Sailing with a Disability

What is Sailability

Sailability is the part of the Royal Yachting Association which organises sailing for anybody with any disability. It has branches around the country and encourages sailing at all levels from the absolute beginner to those who represent their country at the Paralympics. The aim is to provide enjoyment and freedom on the water.

Hykeham Sailability operates at the Hykeham Sailing Club, on Apex Lake in North Hykeham, Lincoln

Stop Press

The 2024 Season is over. The first session for 2025 will be on Friday the 2nd May. We hope to see you then.

Who can take part?

We welcome anybody with any disability, with or without any sailing experience. Our RYA qualified Instructors can teach you the ropes and give you the confidence to sail by yourself, can take you through different qualifications, can improve your racing techniques, or they can just sail the boat while you enjoy the ride. Get in touch with us and tell us what you’d like to do.

Volunteers

We welcome volunteers from all walks of life. The majority of our volunteers are not sailors. We will teach you everything you need to know to take part in an extremely rewarding pastime.
